Mark began as the Icebreakers head coach in 2005. He was the head coach of the Becker/Big Lake High School boys high school team for four years before taking over the helm of the Icebreakers. Formerly of Saint Louis Park, Minnesota, Mark played his prep hockey with Benilde - Saint Margaret's as a goaltender. Furthering his football and hockey career, Mark attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He was on the NSU football and hockey teams as a wide receiver and a goaltender, respectively. Mark has a bachelor of Science degree in Education, a minor in coaching, a Master's in Educational Administration, and a license in K-12 Administration. Mark has been teaching Social Studies and Business at Cathedral High School/John XXIII Middle School for ten years. In addition to teaching and coaching hockey, Mark is a varsity assistant for football and is a Co-Head Coach for softball at Cathedral High School.
Jake is in his sixth year of on the Icebreakers coaching staff. He graduated from SCSU with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in December 2010. He is a 2006 graduate of Saint Cloud Cathedral High School. He played hockey for twelve years in the Saint Cloud Youth Hockey program, and joined the Cathedral Crusaders high school boys hockey program in his sophomore year and played for three years in the Crusaders program.
Tom is in his seventh year as an assistant coach for Saint Cloud girls high school hockey. He graduated from SCSU in 2005 with degrees in Health Education and Physical Education with a minor in coaching. Tom worked for the SCSU Men's and Women's Hockey Programs from 2000 to 2005. He served as a student-assistant coach for the women's program during the 2004-2005 hockey season, and joined the Saint Cloud Tech program as an assistant coach for the 2005-2006 season. Tom is a class of 2000 graduate from Hill-Murray High School, where he was a member of the 1999-2000 state tournament team. He is in his fifth year teaching health and physical education in the St Cloud School District.
This is Holly's second year as an assistant coach with the Icebreakers. She was a four-year letter winner at Saint Cloud State University and was the third women's hockey player in SCSU history to join the 100 Point Club. She ended her college career with 126 points (54g, 72a), ranking second all-time. Holly was a WCHA Scholar Athlete and All-WCHA Academic Team recipient. Holly graduated from Warroad High School in 2006 and graduated from SCSU in December 2010.
